Brisbane Tolkien Fellowship Mission

To create a greater awareness and appreciation of all J.R.R. Tolkien’s works and all that is associated with his world.

  • To meet people with similar interests and to develop relationships.
  • To create social events to bring people together with friends and family.
  • To create events where people can share, knowledge, skills and ideas. 

THE FORTINBRAS PROUDFOOT ESQUIRE FOUNDATION

The Foundation is a Registered Company which is the fundraising group of the Brisbane Tolkien Fellowship.

Goals:

We are an incorporated non-profit organization supporting charities engaged in literacy/education areas through organizing fund and awareness-raising drives and events within communities dedicated to exploring fantasy and mythology through study, literature, art, music and film:

•             To support the development of children’s education through Literacy

•             To support literacy initiatives and programs assisting children and adults;

•             To contact agencies and groups currently engaged in programs supporting literacy programs

•             To form a core group to promote fundraising events

COSTUME PARTY… Oh! What a Night!

On May 11th ,  The Fellowship held a costume Party. It was a successful evening of games and fun

A big thankyou goes to our hosts Helen, Sue and Michael who organised the venue and a menu of fantastic food.

Another thank you goes to our friend Kelly who made a wonderful Hobbit Hole Cake to celebrate the evening.

DINNER DANCE

Our major event for the year will be a Middle-earth Dinner Dance at the Morningside RSL on October 12th.

The night will include a Buffet Meal, music, entertainment, special guests, raffles and prizes. The venue holds 300 people and we are aiming to fill the room for a great lively night.

Admission by ticket. Cost $55… Bookings essential. (See more below.)

The Brisbane Tolkien Fellowship invites you to a Costumed Dinner Dance to raise money for children’s literacy. October 12th, Morningside RSL

Come dressed as a Middle Earth character and enjoy the ambience of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit inspired entertainment. The price includes a buffet meal (not drinks). Raffles, door prizes and costume prizes will be awarded on the night and an auction will be held.

All money raised will go towards the Pyjama Foundation (http://www.thepyjamafoundation.com/index.htm).
